Dear Customers,
Due to a strike announced at very short notice affecting cockpit crews at Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa and Lufthansa CityLine, we would like to inform you about the current situation and unavoidable impacts.
Late in the evening of March 10, the pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) called on pilots at Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cargo to go on strike for two days, from Thursday, March 12, until Friday, March 13, from 00:01 to 23:59 (local time). On Thursday, March 12, 2026, Lufthansa CityLine will also be affected.
Lufthansa Cargo currently expects to operate nearly all planned freighter flights.
According to the current status, only the following cargo rotations will be canceled (date in local time):
LH 8430 (12. März) FRA-PEK // LH 8431 (13. März) PEK-FRA
LH 8262 (12. März) FRA-CWB-VCP // LH 8263 (13. März) CWB-VCP-FRA
LH 8354 (12. März) FRA-IST // LH 8355 (12. März) IST-FRA
LH 8304 (12. März) FRA-MLA // LH 8305 (13. März) MLA-MXP-FRA
LH 8320 (12. März) FRA-BHX-DUB // LH 8321 (12. März) BHX-DUB-FRA
Despite the strike, more than half of all Lufthansa Airlines passenger flights (FRA and MUC) are operating. The Lufthansa Group airlines cooperating with Lufthansa Cargo (Austrian, Brussels, Discover, ITA, Swiss, SunExpress) intend to increase their flight frequencies. The joint venture partners Cathay Pacific and United Airlines are also operating as scheduled.
Should any additional unexpected schedule changes occur, we will inform you promptly.
