The security situation in the Middle East continues to evolve rapidly. As an international air transport company, we are monitoring the situation closely and are in close contact with international aviation authorities, air traffic control agencies, and our local partners.
We would therefore like to provide you with the following update:
Lufthansa is also suspending a significant number of flights to the Middle East.
-Flights to and from Tel Aviv are suspended through April 9
-Flights to and from Abu Dhabi, Amman, Beirut, Dammam, Dubai, and Erbil are suspended through March 28
-Flights to and from Tehran are suspended through April 30
Furthermore, Lufthansa Cargo will not accept any new bookings for Abu Dhabi, Amman, Beirut, Dammam, Dubai (DXB and DWC), Erbil, Riyadh, Tel Aviv, and Tehran through April 19.
Meanwhile, Qatar Airways continues to operate select cargo routes from DOH:
-Vietnam (HAN, SGN)
-China (CAN)
-Thailand (BKK)
-South Korea (ICN)
-India (AMD, HYD, BOM, MAA, BLR)
-Africa (NBO)
-Germany (FRA)
-Netherlands (AMS)
as well as transatlantic routes from AMS (ORD) and LGG (GRU, UIO, PTY).
Furthermore, Qatar Airways even plans to put some passenger aircraft with cargo capacity back into service.
Etihad Airways and Emirates reserve the right to continue adjusting their flight schedules dynamically.
In addition to the UFO union, the VC has now also expanded its strike action.
As a result, there will be an overlap with the ongoing UFO strike action on Thursday, April 16. Furthermore, the VC has announced another day of strike action for Friday, April 17.
Despite the resulting restrictions on cargo operations on Thursday, April 16, and Friday, April 17, Lufthansa Cargo will be able to operate the following cargo flights as scheduled:

In addition to the capacity of its own cargo aircraft, Lufthansa Cargo markets the cargo capacity of Lufthansa Group passenger aircraft. Across all airlines in the Lufthansa Group, 70 percent of the total flight schedule is being operated. The Lufthansa Group airlines cooperating with Lufthansa Cargo (Austrian, Brussels, Discover, ITA, Swiss, SunExpress) as well as our joint venture partners Cathay Pacific and United Airlines are operating according to schedule.
